The Pilgrim Foundation supports Christian organizations that reach and restore the most marginalized people.
Founded in 1998, the Pilgrim Foundation strives to follow Jesus Christ’s instructions to care for the most vulnerable members of society. We seek to fulfill "Tikkun Olam": The Hebrew word for restore which means to "repair the world" or bring back to the original condition that God intended.
because of this calling, We are driven by the following giving values:
Biblically Rooted: The activities of the funded organizations are consistent with Biblical truth.
Unrestricted Grant Relationships: Use of funds will be determined by the funded organization’s leadership with repeated opportunities to reapply and establish a consistent funding source for the organization over many years.
Asset-based Community Development: Valuable human and material assets exist in all communities, and we hope progress comes from within affected communities with guidance from local people.
Long-term Opportunity: Ultimate outcomes should result in long-term sustainable opportunities for the beneficiaries of these funded organizations.
Our grantmaking is guided by several core beliefs:
We believe that every child, born and unborn, is a sacred creation of God.
We believe that every child deserves food, shelter, medical care, and education. Our grants demonstrate these beliefs through support of sustainable development programs in communities in need.
We believe that tremendous human gifts, talents and assets exist in all communities. We work with development organizations that recognize this potential.
We believe that to change communities for the better, local leaders need to be educated and equipped. We support Christian education in order that the graduates can meet the needs of those among them.
We believe that people and communities are transformed through experiencing the love of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit. In all that we do, we are motivated and inspired by His sacrifice for us.
